CFV Weekly Update 6th October, 2017
First of all, we have had some really nice news for G Extra Booster 2 which in coming out January 26th, including confirmed reprints, some images of new units, and even a new Unit’s skills being revealed. For those who don’t know, G Extra Booster 2 will be focusing purely on the Clans of the Zoo nation, that means Great Nature, Neo Nectar, and Megacolony. From the banner we’re given, we can see the ‘Zeroth Dragon’ to the right, a new ‘Ahsha’ in the top-left, and new ‘Bigbelly’ at the bottom-left, and the Queen of Megacolony, ‘Gredora’ in the middle-left.
The ‘Zeroth Dragon’s’ name is ‘Zeroth Dragon of Deaden, Zoa’. It can be used by all the Zoo clans. Apart from that, not much is known other than a quote that was given which was “The biggest power in the history of Vanguard!?”. This is pretty vague. It could mean that ‘Zeroth Dragons’ have a bigger base power than most Strides. It could also just be down to zoo having both Neo Nectar and Great Nature, who are both very good at giving Power buffs, therefore this unit may be able to give huge buffs too.
We have also been shown an image of ‘Ranunculus of Illusionous Blue, Ahsha’, confirming she will be a new Grade 3, making her the third Grade 3 for ‘Ahsha’, and the first Strider to have a third form. Her skill has yet to be announced though.
We have however had the new Megacolony Grade 3 shown with her skill. The Queen herself, ‘Evil Governor, Darkface Gredora’, has arrived early. Her first skill is “[AUTO](VC)[1/Turn]:[Counter Blast (1)] When this unit is placed on (VC), or when your G unit Stride, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose a column, and your opponent cannot call units on the (RC) of that column during the next turn.” This gives you a mini-‘Obtirandus’ every turn which is fantastic. As it works when she Rides as well, if you’re going first, it will make things a lot easier for you as your opponent’s first Stride turn won’t be at its full potential. Her second skill is “[AUTO](VC) Generation Break 1:[Soul Blast (1)] At the beginning of your ride phase, you may pay the cost. If you do, your opponent chooses a face up card from his or her damage zone, turns it face down, and you Counter Charge (1).” This kind of skill was bound to happen at some point, but I’m glad it was given to a small clan like Megacolony, as MC doesn’t get support very often. They’re not exactly the strongest of Clans, and it does fit well with their theme of stealing supplies and such. All-in-all, I’m very happy with this card and can’t wait to put it into my ‘Darkface’ deck. Also, we have very little information about the ‘Bigbelly’ card, but we can assume it’s a new Grade 3 like these two.
The Stride fodders will be reprinted in this set. ‘Minibelly’ and ‘Little Dorcas’ will be getting new art, but ‘Padmini’ will be having her second artwork from a previous set. The Persona Crititcals will also be reprinted as the special RRR reprints, but we have yet to see if their artwork is going to change or not.
We have had a good amount of confirmed cards for G-BT13, though we don’t currently have skills for a lot of them. ‘Dragonic Overlord “The Destiny”‘ is going to be a new Grade 3, and we also are going to have a Stride for ‘Overlord’ with ‘Supreme Heavenly Emperor Dragon, Dragonic Overlord “The Purge”‘. I think it’s safe to say the ‘Defeat Flare Dragon’ is going to be popular once again. ‘Gavrail’ is also getting another Grade 4 form with ‘Black Love Seraph, Gavrail Eden’, so the other artwork for ‘Gavrail’ that was shown for this set is most definitely a Grade 3.
Some cards that a lot of people weren’t expecting to get support were shown in the Monthly Bushiroad. Including ‘Shining Fang Liberator, Garmore Excel’. Now it may have just been a typo, but in the Monthly Bushiroad it was mentioned that he is a member of Royal Paladin. Now this could have just been talking about the past Royal Paladin versions of ‘Garmore’, and from what we’ve been told, Royal Paladin aren’t getting support in this set, but maybe it will be like the ‘Garmore’ Stride which can be used in Royal Paladin or Gold Paladin. From the looks of this art, he seems to be a Grade 3.
‘Six-fold Flower of Fantasy, Shirayuki’ was also shown in the magazine. It’s not clear if she’s a Grade 4 or a Grade 3, though it could be interesting to see ‘Shirayuki’ become a Strider, as her skills of weakening your opponent is something I’ve always thought was cool.
‘Evil God Bishop, Gastille’ was also shown, who seems like he will be a new Grade 3 for Dark Irregulars. Though Dark Irregulars aren’t getting support in G-BT13, so it is basically telling us they will be in G-BT14, or maybe a Dark Irregulars Clan Booster, or even a Trial Deck.
Now we do also have some G-BT13 cards that have had skills announced. The first one is ‘Lizard Attacker, Conroe’, an old face. Old ‘Conroe’ has gone back to being a Forerunner, this time with the skill of “[ACT](RC):[Counter Blast (1) & Put this unit into your soul & Choose a card with “Overlord” in its card name from your hand, and reveal it] Look at seven from the top of your deck, reveal up to one card with “Overlord” in its card name from among them, put it into your hand, and shuffle your deck. If you could not put a card, Soul Charge (1).” It’s not an amazing skill, though the Soul Charge could come in handy. What would make this really good, is if they made rear-guards with ‘Overlord’ in their name, so the search could grab them too as it does not specify Grade 3.
‘Doctroid Ladrus’ for Angel Feather is a little Stand Trigger with “[ACT](Damage Zone):[Turn this card face down] Choose one of your units, and it gets [Power]+3000 until end of turn.” This skill is pretty lacklustre, but this is probably because they’re scared of creating another ‘Refros’.
To conclude the G-BT13 cards for this week, we have Murakumo’s ‘Stealth Rogue of Grudge, Sodehagi’. His skill is “Shadowstitch-[AUTO](RC)[1/Turn] Generation Break 2:[Counter Blast (1) & Choose one of your other “Stealth Rogue of Grudge, Sodehagi” from your (RC), and put it on the bottom of your deck] At the end of the battle that this unit attacked a vanguard and did not hit, you may pay the cost. If you do, [Stand] this unit, and it gets [Power]+5000 until end of turn.” It may be a little costly right now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Murakumo get a couple of Counter Charging Shadowstitch Units in this set. If they do, I can see this card starting to become a threat, especially with how easily Murakumo can clone Units.
For G-CB06, Link Joker get a backup Grade 3 with ‘Interstellar Binder’. Her first skill is “[AUTO](RC):[Counter Blast (1)] When this unit’s attack hits a vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose a locked card, and that card cannot be unlocked during your opponent’s next end phase. And she also has [AUTO](VC/RC) Generation Break 1:When this unit attacks a vanguard, this unit gets [Power]+4000 until end of that battle.” This will make 21k columns, making the Omega Lock easier to accomplish. It makes a great rear-guard, though nobody wants to Ride a 10k Grade 3 as usual. Maybe there would be room for 1 or 2 of this card.
And lastly we have two Promos shown. Both of them Strides, one for ‘Nightrose’, and one for ‘Harri’. The ‘Nightrose’ card is ‘Rosal Night Pirate King, Nightrose’. The first skill is “[ACT](VC)[1/Turn]:[Counter Blast (1) & Choose a face down card from your G zone with the same card name as this unit, and turn it face up] Choose up to a number of cards from your drop zone equal to one plus the number of face up cards in your G zone, call them to separate (RC) as hollowed, and if you called three or more cards, this unit gets [Critical]+1.” It’s really not hard to start Calling five with this unit. You could do it on your second Stride if your first Stride G flipped, and you G Guarded once. She also has “[AUTO](VC):At the beginning of your battle phase, choose one of your units for each card with “Nightrose” in its card name in your drop zone, and they get [Power]+5000 until end of turn.” Yet another easy to accomplish goal, as not only do you discard ‘Nightroses’ to Stride a lot of the time, you can also search the deck to put her in the Drop Zone. For a Promo, this is very good.
‘Masquerade Master, Harri’ has “Magia-[AUTO](VC):[Counter Blast (1) & Choose a face down card from your G zone with the same card name as this unit, and turn it face up & Choose two cards from your other circles, and put them into your soul] When this unit attacks, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose up to three cards from your soul, call them to separate (RC), and at the end of that turn, put them into your soul.” It does say ‘cards’ and not ‘rear-guards’ meaning, yes, you can indeed put Locked cards into your Soul this way. Then he has “[CONT](VC):All of your rear-guards with the magia ability get [Power]+3000 for each face up card with “Harri” in its card name in your G zone.” This could start to become very strong. Luckily his other form is a GR with a costly ability, but if you can flip them with other skills, then your opponent is going to have a very hard time Guarding all these buffed up attacks.
