CFV Weekly Update 22nd December, 2017

Nova Grappler have a new Perfect Guard with 'Extreme Battler, Baryon'. He can protect a 'Victor' Unit, and at the end of the battle that he defends, you can Counter Blast 1 to draw one. It's a simple skill, but the draw does help Novas a lot, and the Counter Charge from 'Lady Cyclone' doesn't matter too much for new 'Victor' decks, as they are getting a lot better at resource management.

'Dr. Angstrom' is a new Grade 3 for Novas who seems to be the villain counterpart to 'Mr. Invincible'. His first skill is “[AUTO](VC/RC)[1/Turn] Generation Break 1:[Counter Blast (1) & Choose 3 cards from your hand, and discard them] When this unit's attack hits a vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, [Stand] all of your rear-guards.” Dropping three cards is quite a heavy cost, but works well alongside the new 'Victor' Stride. He also has “Rush-[AUTO](VC/RC)[1/Turn] Generation Break 1: When this unit [Stand] due to an effect from one of your cards, this unit gets [Power]+5000 until end of turn.” Unfortunately only 1/turn, but does go to 16k which will help a lot in getting that attack to hit and that ability to go off.

'Ideal Ego Messiah' is a Grade 3 for Link Joker. The first skill is “[AUTO](VC)[1/Turn]:[Choose a card from your hand, put it on your (RC) as a locked card] When this unit is placed on (VC), or when your G unit Stride, you may pay the cost. If you do, draw a card, choose one of your vanguards, and it gets [Power]+5000 until end of turn.” Then the second ability is “[AUTO](RC):[Soul Blast (1) & Lock this unit] At the end of that battle that this unit attacked, if your vanguard is a grade 3 or greater <Messiah>, you may pay the cost. If you do, look at three cards from the top of your deck, put up to one on your (RC) as a locked card from among them, and shuffle your deck.” This is so good for preparing your field for a 'Messiah' Stride that can likely Unlock your whole field to get extra attacks, and as you're Calling Units through the skills, it does allow you to keep a huge wall in your hand.

'Myga Messiah' is a Grade 2 with “[AUTO](RC) Generation Break 1:[Counter Blast (1) & Lock this unit] At the end of that battle that this unit attacked, if your vanguard is <Messiah>, you may pay the cost. If you do, look at three cards from the top of your deck, put up to one on your (RC) as a locked card from among them, and shuffle your deck.” Yet again, this is calling ability is great with 'Messiahs', as you'll likely be Unlocking it later in the turn and attacking or Boosting with it. Then this unit has “[CONT](RC) Generation Break 2:This unit gets [Power]+2000 for each of your locked cards.” For this Unit's possible second attack, the added power won't mean much as all of your Units will most likely by Unlocked, but on this Unit's first attack, it won't matter too much if you can't Boost this Unit, as you should always be able to get to at least 11k.

'Vlastos Messiah' is a Grade 1 with two skills. The first one being “[AUTO] Generation Break 1:When this unit is placed on (RC) or is unlocked, if your vanguard is <Messiah>, this unit gets [Power]+4000 until end of turn.” This makes this unit a reliable 11k Booster. This unit's second skill is “[AUTO](RC) Generation Break 2:[Counter Blast (1) & Lock this unit] At the end of that battle that this unit attacked or boosted, you may pay the cost. If you do, Soul Charge (1).” It's not too difficult to Counter Charge in Messiah decks, and you want to have Locked Units to Unlock and Stand, so this cost isn't too bad, even at first it seems you are only getting one Soul Charge.

'Deletor's' get a new Stride with 'Original Deletor, Gaoield'. The first skill is “[CONT]:If you have a vanguard with "Deletor" in its card name, and the number of cards in your hand is one or less, this card may Stride without paying the cost for Stride.” As 'Deletors' don't really draw, this is a great way to prevent them from just losing when already at a disadvantage. Then he also has “[ACT](VC)[1/Turn]:[Choose a face down card with "Deletor" in its card name from your G zone, and turn it face up & Choose two of your rear-guards with "Deletor" in their card names, and retire them] If you have a heart card with "Deletor" in its card name, delete all of your opponent's vanguards.” Retiring two is a bit heavy, but luckily we do have cards that gain abilities from being Retired now, like Superior Calling. This can G flip any Deletor Unit, so you can get away with just running one or two of this.

Lastly for Link Joker we have 'High Pressure Star-vader, Americium'. His skill is “[AUTO] Generation Break 1:When this unit is placed on (RC), if you have a vanguard with "Chaos" in its card name, and your opponent has a locked card, until end of turn, this unit gets [Power]+5000, then, if the number of your opponent's locked cards is three or more, this unit gets [Power]+5000.” With the increase of Unlocking Units, a good thing for 'Star-vaders' to do is to get benefits from Locked cards on their turn, and this being a 17k Booster shows that. Although it's only an on-Call, 'Chaos' was missing out on some Power, and this should be a great Grade 1 for the job.

For Dimension Police we have 'Great Galactic Beast, Zeal'. 'Zeal' has come back as a G Guardian this time. The skill is “[AUTO]:[Soul Blast (1)] When this unit is placed on (GC), you may pay the cost. If you do, choose one of your opponent's unit, and it gets [Power]-5000 until end of that battle. If the number of cards in your damage zone is greater than or equal to the number of cards in your opponent's damage zone, you may Counter Blast (1). If you do that, choose one of your vanguards, and it gets [Power]+5000 until end of turn.” Being able to minus any of the Units' Powers is a very nice touch, and gaining the plus +5000 Power means you can very likely prevent one of the columns from having a chance at hitting you.

'Super Dimensional Robo, Dainexus' is a new Grade 3. It has “[AUTO](VC):[Counter Blast (1) & Choose a grade 3 card with "Dimensional Robo" in its card name from your drop zone, and put it on the bottom of your deck] When your G unit Stride, you may pay the cost. If you do, look at four cards from the top of your deck, call up to one card with "Dimensional Robo" in its card name from among them to (RC), choose one of your vanguards, it gets the original [Power] of the called unit until end of turn, and shuffle your deck.” 'D Robos' having Superior Calling every turn is really amazing. They struggle with hand size quite a bit and this combined with 'Daiearth' can Superior Call three Units in one turn. The Power up also means you don't have to put so much effort into activating your Bursts. This Unit also has “[CONT](VC) Generation Break 1:All of your grade 3 units with "Dimensional Robo" in their card names get [Shield]+10000 and "Intercept".” You will most likely be running more Grade 3s in 'D Robos' than most other decks, likely around 10-12, so being able to turn them into such strong Interceptors is really great, and with this Unit's first skill, you can put them back into the deck.

Lastly for this week we have the Grade 2, 'Dimensional Robo, Daipole'. This Unit has 10k Power with the -5k when placed if you don't have a card in hand or Vanguard with Dimensional Robo in its name. And this Unit also has “[CONT](RC):If you have a grade 4 vanguard with "Dimensional Robo" in its card name, this unit and all of your grade 3 rear-guards get [Power]+5000.” If you have a lot of Grade 3s in hand but not a lot of Boosters, you can put this on the back row to have two Grade 3 16k attackers. We may also be seeing a Stride for this set that will allow Grade 3s to attack from the back row.
