CFV Weekly Update 4th August, 2017

First off we have a Grade 3 Shadow Paladin, 'Gigantech Shutter'. He has “[AUTO](VC/RC):[Choose two of your other rear-guards, and retire them] When this unit attacks a vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, draw a card, Counter Charge (1), and this unit gets [Power]+3000 until end of that battle.” This is actually a pretty decent common Grade 3. It can help you speed up Ritual quite a lot and the Counter Charge is very nice too. I wouldn't go for a full 4-of, as 'Fodla' is still excellent, but 2 of each would be very good together. 

Next for Shadow Paladin is 'Swift Owl'. It has “[AUTO] Ritual 3:[Soul Blast (1)] When this unit is placed on (RC) from your deck, you may pay the cost. If you do, this unit gets [Power]+7000 until end of turn. The big problem with this card is the Soul Blast, as Shadow Paladin don't do much Soul Charging, and 'Luard' is currently having troubles with the amount of cards in the Soul. If they get some decent Soul Charging in this set I can definitely see this card being used.

'Battle Sisters' had a very nice Boost this week. We had their RRR Stride revealed, 'Excite Battle Sister, Stollen'. Her skills are “[ACT](VC)[1/Turn]:[Counter Blast (1) & Choose a face down card from your G zone with the same card name as this unit, and turn it face up] You may Soul Charge (1). Then, look at the same number of cards from the top of your deck as the number of your rear-guards with "Battle Sister" in their card names, and put each of the cards you looked at on the top or bottom of your deck in any order.” To add to that she also has “[CONT](VC) Generation Break 3:All of your rear-guards with "Battle Sister" in their card names get [Power]+3000.” The first skill is fantastic, letting you look at up to 5 cards and stacking them how you will. Which is extra powerful thanks to the Power gain. It doesn't even require a 'Battle Sister' Heart, so you could splash non-'Battle Sisters' Grade 3s like 'Susanoo' or 'Tsukuyomi'.

'Battle Sister, Florentine' is then a RR Grade 3 with “[AUTO]:When this unit is placed on (VC), look at the top card of your deck, and put it on the top or bottom of your deck.” And “[AUTO](VC):[Counter Blast (1)-card with "Battle Sister" in its card name] When your G unit Stride, you may pay the cost. If you do, look at two cards from the top of your deck, put a card into your hand, put a card on the top or bottom of your deck, choose one of your vanguards, and until end of turn, it gets "[CONT](VC):All of your rear-guards with "Battle Sister" in their card names get [Power]+3000.".” Although limited to 'Battle Sisters', this Stride's Stride bonuses are very powerful. Her non-Stride abilities are no way near as good as 'Susanoo's', but I would say she is the better Strider out of the two. Also the power really stacks up when you consider 'Stollen' also gives another +3k Power. 

'Battle Sister, Sable' is a Grade 2 with “[AUTO]:[Soul Blast (1)-card with "Battle Sister" in its card name] When this unit is placed on (RC), if the number of your other units with "Battle Sister" in its card name is three or more, you may pay the cost. If you do, draw a card.” This is a very good cheap draw, and as you want as many 'Battle Sisters' on the field as possible at all times, it shouldn't be too hard to pull off.

'Battle Sister, Baumkuchen' is a nice little Stride fodder. She has “[AUTO]:[Choose a grade 3 card with "Battle Sister" in its card name from your hand, and reveal it] When this unit is placed on (RC) from hand, you may pay the cost. If you do, search your deck for up to one grade 3 card with "Battle Sister" in its card name, reveal it, put it into your hand, choose a card from your hand, discard it, and shuffle your deck.” And “[CONT](Hand):While you are paying the cost for Stride, this card gets grade+2.” So just like the old Stride fodders, though it's odd to see a Sub Clan get something like this. Odd, but very nice.

Lastly for the 'Battle Sisters' we have the Forerunner 'Battle Sister, Kipferl'. She has “[ACT](RC) Generation Break 1:[Put this unit into your soul] Choose one of your vanguards with "Battle Sister" in its card name, and until end of turn, it gets "[CONT](VC):All of your rear-guards with "Battle Sister" in their card names get [Power]+3000.".” I find this to be a fantastic card. It's really cheap with the only cost being to put it into your Soul, it gives the field the same level of bonus that 'Stollen' or 'Florentine' do. It's just so good. And feeding the Soul is also very useful for the deck. 

'Integrity Flower Maiden, Ritaleena' is a Grade 3 for Neo Nectar. She has the CONT of “You may have up to sixteen "Integrity Flower Maiden, Ritaleena" in your deck.” And then she has “Bloom-[AUTO](VC/RC):[Counter Blast (1)] When your other unit with the same card name as this unit is placed on (RC), you may pay the cost. If you do, look at three cards from the top of your deck, call up to one card with the bloom ability from among them to an open (RC), and this unit gets "Boost" until end of turn. If you could not call a card, Counter Charge (1). Shuffle your deck.” This ability is quite costly and does have a problem that the unit has to be called to an open RC, preventing you from doing it too much as you may struggle to get some of your cards killed. It is nice enough to refund the cost if the effect doesn't work though.

Then for Neo Nectar we have the Grade 1, 'Loving Maiden, Valilla'. Her skill is “[CONT](RC/GC) Generation Break 1:If you have another unit with the same card name as this unit, this unit gets [Shield]+5000, and "Intercept".” This is not a hard condition to meet, and you can use two of her from your hand to Guard to make a 20k shield. 

'Strong Lightning Circular Blade, Gliselle' is a RR for Narukami. Her skills are “[AUTO](RC):When this unit is attacked or chosen due to an effect of your opponent's cards, your opponent chooses a card from his or her drop zone, and binds it face up.” And “[CONT](RC) Thunderstrike 5:During your turn, this unit gets [Power]+9000, and "[ACT](RC)[1/Turn]:[Counter Blast (1)] If you have a vanguard with "Vanquisher" in its card name, choose one of your opponent's (RC), and until end of turn, when this unit attacks a vanguard, this unit battles both the vanguard and the units on the chosen (RC).".” This card seems really great. It's not that hard to get to Thunderstrike 5 any more, and the +9000 is a big Power up. Unfortunately a 7k Booster will only put it to 25k, but the additional power gains that you're getting from a few of your strides will make her very deadly.

'Smash Boxer Dragon' is a great Grade 1 for Narukami. It has “[CONT](RC) Generation Break 1:During the battle that this unit boosted a unit with the thunderstrike ability, that unit and this unit cannot be chosen by the effects of your opponent's cards. Great against other control decks.” And he has “[AUTO](RC) Generation Break 1 Thunderstrike 3:[Put this unit into your soul] At the end of the battle that this unit boosted, if you have a vanguard with "Vanquisher" in its card name, you may pay the cost.” If you do, draw a card, and Counter Charge (1).
