New Warhammer High Elves

The new Warhammer High Elves have now been revealed, after passing a casual eye over the new models online I have come to the following opinions.

High Elf Phoenix Guard

I must admit to not being blown away by the new Phoenix Guard scuplts, I particularly dislike the new helmets, the old metal models looking much better in my option. Also I’m sure it must be difficult wading into combat wearing ankle length chainmail… Click here for a pic.

High Elf White Lions of Chrace

The new White Lions are slightly more heavily armoured than the old models, their axes are longer and their helmet plumes are more dynamic (as with the Swordmasters from The Island of Blood). They look like they will make nice replacements for the old metal White Lions. Click here for a pic.

High Elf Dragon Princes of Caledor

Now we’re talking!!! (Really, three exclamation marks? – Ed) I was always a bit of a fan of the old metal Dragon Princes boxed set but I am really liking this new kit. Whoever had the idea of sculpting the horses champron (horse head armour) in the shape of a dragons head is a genius. What’s more the champron scuplts are amazing. Apart from this change the models are a little spikier and more heavily armoured which I’m a little less keen on but it’s not enough to dampen my enthusiasm for the new Dragon Princes.
